Your Library Card

Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.
  • The Oxford Public Library mainly serves the population of the town of Oxford, Iowa.
    • Thanks to the support of the Johnson County Supervisors rural residents of the county also qualify for a card.
    • If you qualify for a library card in any library in Iowa, you may get an Oxford card also as part of the Open Access Program. (People who live in incorporated towns without library service are not eligible.)
  • At present the Oxford Public Library is using a family card system. That means there is one card per family. You can apply for a card in person with a picture ID and something that shows your current address (because library funding is based on where you live). The application form is available at the desk.
  • Card holders are expected to return materials on time and pay for lost books.
This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
