Join a Book Club

The Oxford Public Library invites you to join our book club.

Come join us for our new monthly book club.

  • Who it is for:The Oxford Book Club is open to any adult wanting to join the club.  We have our meetings at the library but having a library card is not a requirement for attending meetings. Everyone is welcome. However, we'll be glad to help you get a card while you are here if you want one.
  • When it meets: The club meetings will be the third Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:00 pm.
  • Where it meets:The club will meet at the Oxford Public Library on Augusta Ave. in Oxford, Iowa
  • Who facilitates:Kiva Shogren
  • How the books are chosen:A survey of members’ interests was taken and books will be determined using these results.  The books will include fiction, non-fiction, mystery, short stories, plays.
  • How to acquire a copy of the book: Copies of the month’s book may be attained at the Oxford Public Library and through Overdrive if a person wants to read the book electronically. If you miss the meeting, remaining copies will be available for pick up at the library throughout the entire month. Again, no library card is required.
  • Book club expectations:A book club is most fun when members attend the meetings and have read the book. Lively discussions and hearing others’ points of view enhances the material.
  • Staff contact:Kiva Shogren at or 319-400-8436.
  • Instructions on how to register:  Attend a meeting on the third Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Books are available in the library throughout the month so if you miss a meeting, stop by the library to pick up a book.

We hope to see you soon!
